It is the Ezlo controller that runs things on your system, including sending out email and text notifications. You only need your computer or smartphone for the initial setup of the system, and for making changes, such as switching house modes, adding scenes, or adding new devices. You can control the system entirely through mobile apps with your smartphone, or leave it running automatically.
